5 ATTORNEYS PROMOTED TO PARTNER AT HEWSON AND VAN HELLEMONT

Hewson and Van Hellemont proudly announces the promotion of 5 attorneys to Partner.  

Alex Clar received his Juris Doctorate with distinction from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific.  Prior to joining HVH, he practiced in asbestos defense litigation and general corporate law and taught Introductory Torts at the University of Hong Kong. He joined the firm in November 2018, practicing in Insurance Defense and Business Law.

Tamara Cook received her Juris Doctorate in 1997 from Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University.  She was a judicial law clerk for the Michigan Supreme Court for 20 years following admission to the bar. She joined the firm in April 2019, focusing on Appellate Advocacy.  

Maro Houhanisin joined the firm in March 2019, focusing on Insurance Defense Litigation cases.  Prior to joining HVH, she was an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne County, Michigan where she gained extensive litigation experience.  She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Lawand was admitted to the Bar in 2013.

Scott Stawiasz obtained his Juris Doctorate in 2012 from Michigan State University College of Law.  He joined the firm in July 2016 with a focus on Insurance Defense.  Prior to joining HVH, he worked at a Detroit law firm specializing in civil rights, business law and criminal defense.

David Walz graduated from the Wayne State University Law School in 2017.  While at WSU, he was a law clerk at a prominent medical malpractice firm and was a judicial intern on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.  Since joining HVH, in 2017, he has focused on Insurance Defense.

Grace Wright is a graduate of University of Michigan: Center for Chinese Studies and has a business background in International Companies.
