It is a great day for Hewson & Van Hellemont! Governor Snyder has appointed one of our own to the 61st District Court in Grand Rapids. On January 1, 2019, Nick Ayoub was sworn in as the judge of the 61st District Court.
For anyone who was fortunate enough to work closely with Nick, it is obvious he belongs on the bench. Nick’s legal acumen is unmatched. He has the patience of saint. He is fair, thoughtful, and I trust his judgment over most anyone else I know. Nick also holds people accountable for their actions and I am confident that he will show firm and appropriately measured discipline in his courtroom.
For those of us who know Nick well, we know that he is not defined as being just a tremendous lawyer. Among other things, he is also a perfect husband and father, a dear friend and a wonderful musician. Nick is truly the most interesting man alive.
During his five years with HVH, Nick Ayoub has brought joy to everyone around him, especially the Grand Rapids office. He is one of the most generous and talented people I have ever met. I think that everyone here will agree that Nick has made them a better lawyer. For me personally, Nick has not only made me a better lawyer, he has made me a better person.
We will miss working with you Ayoub. He will always be a special part of HVH.
