Jerald Van Hellemont,

Jerald Van Hellemont graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.S. in 1977. Mr. Van Hellemont graduated from Wayne State University Law School with a Juris Doctor in 1980. Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1980, he is licensed in all Michigan and Federal Courts. Jerald Van Hellemont is a member of the State of Bar of Michigan.

Jerald Van Hellemont has been an attorney since 1980 with his primary practice in the area of insurance defense with an emphasis on fire and casualty claims, including homeowners, no-fault, automobile theft, fire claims and various personal injury litigation cases. His practice also includes general civil and corporate litigation for local and national companies. Mr. Van Hellemont’s experience includes more than 150 civil jury trials.

Mr. Van Hellemont also has participated in management meetings and seminars with various insurance companies. He participated and instructed in seminars and classes for various insurance companies and associations involving automobile theft, homeowners’ claims, fire claims, subrogation and other insurance topics. He drafted various policy provisions, changes and endorsements for  clients. Currently, he is counsel for the Michigan Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigative Units.
