Grant O. Jaskulski is a shareholder at Hewson & Van Hellemont.  The majority of his practice focuses on various appeals stemming from the insurance defense industry in Michigan. In addition to appeals, Grant regularly provides insight to clients and peers on complex litigation issues and drafts complicated motions and other filings at all court levels.

Throughout his legal career, Grant has managed dozens of different cases before the Michigan Court of Appeals, as well as a handful before the Michigan Supreme Court and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. As co-chair of Hewson & Van Hellemont’s Appellate Advocacy department, Grant prides himself on simplifying and diffusing the legal questions that arise in the often-complicated appellate arena, resulting in a stellar record at the Appellate level.

In addition to his work at Hewson & Van Hellemont, Grant is also active with the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. He is a member of the MDTC’s Appellate Amicus committee which regularly files briefs, often at the invitation of the Michigan Supreme Court, in important appellate cases affecting the civil defense bar. He has been a speaker at MDTC events and has assisted in various presentations for MDTC and other organizations such as the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the International Association of Special Investigation Units.

Grant earned his undergraduate education from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and he later graduated cum laude from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law. At Loyola, Grant was active with the school’s highly respected moot court program and competed at the 2010-2011 National Moot Court Competition.

Prior to joining Hewson & Van Hellemont in 2013, Grant practiced law in Chicago. In addition to his practice in Michigan, Grant remains licensed and active in Illinois.
