Ramy Hijazi joined Hewson & Van Hellemont, P.C. as a law clerk during his second year in law school where he focused his work on substantive motion practice and appellate advocacy. He was born and raised in Dearborn Heights, Michigan. He is fluent in spoken Arabic.
During his time at Wayne State University Law School, Ramy was a student clinician at the Business and Community Law Clinic where he worked with community-based businesses that aspired to create social good and revitalize Detroit and Michigan. His work product spanned from research into the substantive law, fact analysis, and promoting consciousness of legal culture by raising legal awareness through legal workshops and office hours in Detroit’s neighborhoods. In 2018, Ramy graduated cum laude from Wayne State University Law School. He was admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in 2019.
Ramy was an active member of law review and his article “A Survey of Michigan Assignment Law As It Relates to No-Fault Insurance Contracts: Post-Covenant” will be published by the Wayne Law Review in 2019.
