Tamara York Cook graduated with honor from Michigan State University in 1989, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After practicing nursing for several years, she attended Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University with a full-tuition scholarship. While in law school, Ms. Cook was an active member of the Law Review. She received her Juris Doctorate in 1997, graduating summa cum laude and ranked first in her class.
Before joining Hewson and Van Hellemont, P.C. in April 2019, Ms. Cook served as a judicial law clerk for the Michigan Supreme Court for twenty years, working for Justice Patricia J. Boyle, Justice Maura Corrigan, Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. and Justice Kurtis T. Wilder.
