Brian Boyd received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Michigan State University in 2013. Brian then attended The University of Toledo College of Law and received his Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, in 2016.
During law school, Brian worked within the Office of General Counsel for a major amusement park company as well as within a mid-sized law firm in Toledo, Ohio where he was able to see cases from the plaintiff’s perspective. He served as an editor and published author on the University of Toledo Law Review and successfully competed in The University of Toledo College of Law Fornoff Appellate Advocacy Competition, where he was a member of the winning team. Brian also holds membership in the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers, both nationally recognized honor societies.
Prior to joining Hewson and Van Hellemont, Brian worked in a boutique labor and employment law firm where he specialized in the defense of employers. In this capacity, Brian defended employers in both state and federal court as well as before state and federal agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Michigan Department of Civil Rights, and the National Labor Relations Board.
