Hani Azakir graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2014. After taking a year away from school to concentrate on studying for his Law School entrance exam, he decided to attend DePaul University College of Law, in Chicago. He graduated from DePaul University and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2018. Thereafter, Hani decided to move back to the great state of Michigan, as he is both a very proud Michigander and is deeply rooted here. Hani was admitted to the Michigan state bar in November 2018.
Prior to joining Hewson & Van Hellemont, P.C., in August 2018, Hani was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Cynthia Gray Hathaway of the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan. While there, Hani assisted Judge Hathaway in authoring draft opinions on substantive contested motions, compiled accurate research on legal issues of first impression and coordinated a large docket.
Hani is passionate about the practice of law. His experiences thus far have sharpened his legal writing, research and analysis. His time in the Courts also have allowed him to sit in and learn from approximately 40 trials, which he knows will be of great benefit for him as a litigator. Hani is admitted to practice in the Michigan Courts.
