Brynne Lewis joined Hewson and Van Hellemont, P.C., in the spring of 2012. Brynne is a shareholder who focuses on assisting insurers with first- and third-party as well as uninsured motorist claims, both pre-litigation and beyond. Brynne has advised her clients on their rights concerning rescission and applicable insurance coverage, as well as many other issues. Ms. Lewis also has experience litigating complex medical claims and issues of fraud at all stages of litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Brynne graduated from the University of Michigan Honors College in 2008, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science. Ms. Lewis then attended Loyola University Chicago School of Law where she graduated cum laude and obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2011.

At Loyola, Brynne focused on children’s welfare and legal rights as a Childlaw Fellow. She also was a student articles’ editor for the Loyola Law Journal, as well as an associate editor for the Children’s Legal Rights Journal. Brynne clerked with the Cook County State’s Attorney and the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office. She gained valuable trial experience at each entity, which assists her in her fervent representation of clients.

Prior to joining Hewson & Van Hellemont, Brynne clerked for the Michigan Court of Appeals, where she handled criminal and civil appeals by leave and by right. She is a member of the Michigan Defense Trial counsel (MDTC). Brynne is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
